WCBL – Week 5

Seems weird that although i’m blogging week 5 at the start of the week (i start this on monday then complete it through the week, before i forget it all), there is still 8 weeks until showtime!

After training on saturday (week 4), it was announced who our opponents would be.  I found it a little amusing that people were already talking about their ‘game plan’.  Me?  I’ll make it up as i go.

I have an envelope full of tickets to get shot of, and some requests for ringside seats.

Monday – 1.3 miles run in the park, 10m49.  Followed by about 15-20 mins of skipping in the car park.  Weird.  Whilst running, i thought i was holding a faster pace then last thursday, but i was nearly 30 seconds slower.

Tuesday – 1.5 miles run, 11m55. Followed by 10 mins of skipping.  Evening – Knights Gym.  Lots of body sparring, i did 4 rounds with Simon, wo has boxed on a previous event, and 4 rounds with Levi.  Really enjoyed this session and it put me in a very positive frame of mind.  Ended the session with ‘Sally Up’.

Wednesday – rest day.

Thursday – unplanned rest day.  Forgot i had half a day’s holiday from work, which kinda messed up my schedule.

Friday – unplanned rest day.  Lost wallet in the morning, which threw me out for the whole day.

Saturday – Knights Gym.  12 minutes of sprints, followed by ‘light’ sparring.  I’d not eaten before the session, so i was already in a massive calorie defecit and i felt wiped out.  Also, i’m not so sure that some people understand the concept of light sparring, as i took a hard one to the right lower ribs that knocked the wind right out of me (had to step out for 10-20 seconds to ctach breath), and a little while later, took one square in the nose that i could still feel a few days later.  Confidence took more of a knock than my bruised nose.

Sunday – rest day.
